Your data, handled with discipline.
The same clear documentation and minimal-footprint approach I bring to HR, applied to this site. I collect only what is needed to keep the site working, understand how it is used, and support moderated Reader Notes on blog posts. I never sell your information.

The short version
This is a personal HR blog and portfolio site. You can browse and read everything without signing in or creating an account.
Signing in with LinkedIn is only required if you want to add a Reader Note on a blog post. This keeps the discussion professional and accountable, and every Reader Note is reviewed before it appears publicly.
For that feature I collect the minimum needed: your LinkedIn sign-in details, the public LinkedIn profile URL you provide, your submitted note, and basic technical data for security and reliability. I never sell your information.
What I collect
When you reach out
If you email me or message me on LinkedIn through links on this site, I receive whatever you choose to send — your name, email address, LinkedIn profile, and the contents of your message. I use that information only to reply.
Reader Notes and LinkedIn sign-in
If you choose to add a Reader Note, you must sign in with LinkedIn.
Through LinkedIn sign-in, this site may receive basic profile information such as your name, profile image, account identifier, and email address, depending on what LinkedIn provides and what permissions you approve.
Because LinkedIn sign-in may not provide your public profile URL, this site may ask you to enter your public LinkedIn profile URL before submitting a Reader Note.
If your Reader Note is approved, the public version may show:
- your name
- your profile image or initials
- your Reader Note
- your public LinkedIn profile link
Your email address is never displayed publicly. LinkedIn sign-in is used for professional accountability, not identity verification.
Reader Note moderation
Submitted Reader Notes and replies are saved for review before publication. Notes may be approved, rejected, hidden, or deleted if they are spam, abusive, off-topic, or not appropriate for the discussion.
Analytics
This site uses Google Tag Manager and the analytics tools loaded through it to measure aggregate traffic — pages viewed, rough location by region, device and browser type. This data is used to understand what content is useful and improve the site.
Server logs
Like most websites, the hosting infrastructure records standard technical information such as IP address, request time, browser details, and requested pages for security, debugging, and reliability. These logs are kept only as long as reasonably needed.
Cookies and sign-in sessions
Analytics tools may set cookies in your browser to distinguish repeat visits. You can block or clear cookies in your browser settings at any time.
If you sign in with LinkedIn to use Reader Notes, the site may also use authentication cookies or session tokens to keep you signed in and connect your Reader Note to your account. These are used only to support sign-in, moderation, and site security.
How information is used
I use information only to:
- respond to inquiries
- keep the site secure and working
- understand which content is useful
- allow LinkedIn-authenticated readers to submit Reader Notes
- review and moderate Reader Notes before publication
- prevent spam, abuse, or misuse of the discussion feature
That is the full list.
What I never do
- I do not sell, rent, or trade your information.
- I do not run advertising networks.
- I do not share your data with third parties for marketing.
- I do not add you to a mailing list without your permission.
- I do not publish your email address.
Third-party services
A few trusted providers help run this site, including:
- LinkedIn, for Reader Notes sign-in
- Google, for analytics
- the hosting provider, for site infrastructure
- email services, when you contact me directly
Each provider handles information under its own privacy terms. Outbound links to other sites, including LinkedIn and referenced sources, are governed by those sites’ policies, not this one.
Your choices
You can browse this site without signing in, and you do not need to submit a Reader Note to read the blog.
You can decline or clear cookies through your browser settings. If you sign in with LinkedIn, you can still choose not to submit a Reader Note.
You can ask me to show you, correct, or delete personal information you have sent through this site, including Reader Notes connected to your profile.
Changes
If this policy changes, the “last updated” date above changes with it. Material changes will be reflected here.
